Beginning Tuesday, the Alabama Department of Industrial Relations is making it easier for citizens to file for unemployment compensation benefits.
Special call centers will open Monday through Friday in Birmingham, Mobile, Montgomery and Decatur that will make the application process easier.
The toll-free number to file for jobless benefits is 1-866-2 FILE UC or 1-866-234-5382.
Alabama is the 28th state to use telephone call centers.
