Motorists driving south on Highway 231 will be hitting the brakes for a new traffic light.
The new signal was activated Tuesday.
The light is located about one mile south of Interstate -10 at the intersection of Route 231 and Green Circle Parkway.
Flashing caution lights warn motorists driving in the north and south bound lanes of the change.
Northbound motorists need to use caution because the signal is located just over a rise in the road.
Prior to Tuesday the signal was in a flash mode to alert motorists of the change.
