DeFuniak Springs Energy Expo

More than one-hundred elected officials and area residents took part in a unique, one-day seminar in DeFuniak Springs.

An alternative Energy Expo was sponsored by the University of Florida’s Food and Agricultural Services division.

Several national experts on bio-fuel, as well as solar energy spoke about the price of a barrel of oil hovering around the one-hundred dollar mark.

Scientists believe that America is ready to get off fossil fuels and move into a new direction.

Proposed bio-fuel facilities for Northern Walton County, as well as Opp were discussed.

Experts say the time to act on energy alternatives is now.
