A series of drive-by shootings of unoccupied cars and businesses has Houston County authorities concerned.
A pickup truck in a car lot on Highway 84 West was hit by gunfire sometime last Thursday night. Two businesses were also shot. One of the bullets, apparently from a nine-millimeter pistol, passed through a wall and damaged a display case.
Sheriff Lamar Glover said no one was inside the building at the time and he wants to catch the suspect before someone gets hurt. Witnesses who heard the shots reported seeing a light-colored compact vehicle, possibly a Dodge Neon, being driven with its lights off.
Anyone with information about the shootings should contact the Houston County Sheriff's Department or call Crimestoppers at 793-7000.
