Auctioned Gifts

A needy Houston family is getting the presents that were supposed to go to three naughty children this year.

The kids' father put the Nintendo DS game systems he was going to give them up for auction on e-Bay, and an online casino bought them for $5,300. The casino promised to give the games to a needy family, and the father promised to use the money for a new heater and renovations to a church.

The buyer was GoldenPalace.com, the same casino that bought a cheese sandwich said to bear the Virgin Mary's image and a cane sold to banish a young boy's fear of ghosts.

The casino has paid about $108,000 for e-Bay oddities in just more than a month.
