At least 26 families in the Wiregrass are trying to put their lives back together after experiencing devasting fires in the past month. But the coffers of the agencies that help during the rebuilding process are low.

Investigators say most of the fires in the area have been caused by grease or electrical problems. Many stem from holiday decorations and preparations for holiday cooking.

The Wiregrass Chapter of the American Red Cross is one of the agencies that assists families, but it's funding is tight because of the recent hurricanes and tornadoes. This the Red Cross' busiest time of the year, and their aim is to get more community involvement. For more information on how you can help, you may call the Red Cross at (334) 792-9852.
