The numbers are piling up on District Attorney Doug Valeska, and he's made a personal mission to crack down on delinquent tickets. Valeska says Alabams don't want to pay more in taxes, when the court system has billions of dollars that are uncollected.
The District Attorney has hired two investigators who will concentrate on rounding up those who have delinquet tickets in Houston and Henry counties. There is a bill in the Alabama Legislature that would help the D.A. and his cause. It would require payment of all traffic and court fees in order to receive a driver's license. But it has not passed yet.
To pay a delinquent fine, contact the District Attorney's office at (334) 677-4894.
