Robert Blake's defense attorney is continuing to attack the evidence against his client.
On the trial's second day, Blake's attorney (Gerald Schwartzbach) has been offering his own view of some of the evidence the prosecution will present. He says that evidence doesn't prove the actor killed his wife, Bonny Lee Bakley.
The attorney discussed records of phone card calls Blake made to a former Hollywood stuntman. Prosecutors say Blake was trying to hire a hitman, and that the phone card showed frantic, repeated calls.
But Blake's attorney says most of the calls didn't actually connect. He also told jurors a "phone card doesn't help" identify who shot Bakley, which is what he says the jury is there to decide.
Testimony is expected to begin after Blake's attorney wraps up his opening statement.
