A man scheduled for a court appearance on sex charges Tuesday was missing, reportedly having vanished on Monday in what authorities were told was a boating mishap.
A search of the Gulf of Mexico and Saint Andrews Bay turned up only a life jacket.
Investigators say the reported disappearance of Steven W. Haun, of Laguna Beach, was suspicious because it happened a day before he was to appear at a pretrial hearing in Circuit Court.
He is charged with two counts of lewd and lascivious exhibition and failing to register as a sexual predator.
