After 23 weeks of testimony, the Scott Peterson double-murder case will soon be in the hands of the jury.
Closing arguments are to begin Monday. The judge has set aside two days for attorneys to present their final statements. Prosecutors will go first, followed by the defense closing and then a prosecution rebuttal.
Jurors could begin deliberations as early as Wednesday.
Prosecutors say Peterson killed his pregnant wife, Laci, and then dumped her body in the San Francisco Bay. Defense attorneys allege someone else abducted Laci Peterson and killed her.
The jury will have two choices should they decide to convict Scott Peterson, one of which would spare him a possible death sentence.
