Speeders Crackdown

Speeders beware: the Florida Highway Patrol is cracking down on aggressive drivers.

The FHP is unveiling 18 unmarked stealth cars to pursue speeders across the state. The high-performance Mercury Marauders are completely unmarked and their tinted windows hide police lights and the uniformed trooper inside.

FHP officials say aggressive driving brings more complaints than any other subject. Nearly 8,800 citations were issued for aggressive driving from July 2003 through June 30th of this year.

The FHP says assigning 18 troopers to the job is the largest effort at combating aggressive driving the the highway patrol's history.
