Coffee County Water Reservoir

Coffee County may have an above ground water supply in coming years.

Outside of Bay County-Panama City, the underground aquifer is the main source of water in the tri-states.

Coffee County commission unanimously voted to explore the possibility of creating a manmade lake.

The 1,200 acre reservoir would be fed by several rivers and creeks located near the battens community, south of Enterprise.

With the looming drought crisis in Atlanta, the federal government is more apt to spend money on water projects.

Two-years-ago, several Wiregrass counties discussed combining resources in draining the Choctawhatchee River for area water needs.

    A LAKE IN BATTENS CROSSROADS AL IS A JOKE THEY TRIED IT ONE TIME AND WANTED PEOPLE TO PAY PROPERTY TAXES ON LAND COVERED BY WATER
