State Demanding Nearly $60,000 in Missing Funds be Repayed

The State of Alabama is demanding that a former employee of the Dothan Driver’s License Office repay nearly $60,000 in missing funds.

Fifty-three-year-old Janice Jackson was indicted in June by a Houston County Grand Jury.

She's charged with multiple counts of theft of property.

Jackson worked at the Driver’s License Office in Dothan for 27 years before being fired in May.

A state audit revealed more than $58,000 dollars in missing funds allegedly taken from the office between October 1st of 2005 and June of this year.

The charges against Jackson are still pending.

She's free on a $25,000 bond.
