Local Soldiers Honored at Veterans Day Services

In order to say thanks to our local vets, the wiregrass veteran's alliance held a ceremony at the VFW on Taylor Road.

The Rehoboth High School prepared a 21-gun salute.

A number of veterans attended, including those from conflicts in Vietnam, Pearl Harbor, fleet reserve, and ex- POWs.

Chiarman Houston County Commission Mark Culver said, "The men and women in uniform- so we can live safe and free. Many have sacrificed al lot for us; many have sacrificed time with their loved ones, the ability to see children grow up, things that many of us take for granted."

Following the ceremony, there was a luncheon held at the post for vets and their families.
