The mayor of a small Wiregrass town is dead after drowning in a pool at a local spa.
71-year-old Henry Ellis Johnston was found dead in a mineral pool at Olympia Spa in Dothan.
He was in his first term as Mayor of Cowarts.
Houston County Coroner Robert Byrd believes Johnston had some sort of cardiac episode, which caused him to lose consciousness and drown.
Johnston had a history of heart problems.
Funeral arrangements have not been announced.
