Florida Man Takes 8-year-old on High Speed Chase

A Northwest Florida man is in jail after crashing his vehicle Wednesday during a high speed chase.

Police attempted to pull over 27-year-old Christopher Wardell in Callaway, Florida early morning.

That's after noticing extensive damage to the front end of his Chevrolet Blazer.

Wardell led authorities on a high speed chase and hit many cars in the process.

Authorities said he lost control of his SUV, ran into a ditch and hit a tree.

Police say his 8-year-old son was in the passenger seat the entire time.

Wardell faces a number of charges including possession of methamphetamine, child abuse, and resisting an officer.
