A top health official says the U.S. is in active negotiations to get 1.5 million doses of flu vaccine from a Canadian supplier.
Doctor Anthony Fauci says it's possible that the vaccine from ID Biomedical could arrive in time for this flu season. Fauci is director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.
Canadian health officials are pulling together documents to prove the vaccine is safe, but officials say American health officials would have to declare an emergency to accept those tests instead of the ones normally done by the Food and Drug Administration.
Flu shots are being limited after British officials banned the export of 48 million doses from a British supplier.
