Suspect Arrested in Carnival Worker's Death

DOTHAN, Ala. (AP) - An Indiana man sought in the fatal beating of a carnival co-worker at the National Peanut Festival in Dothan has been captured by U.S. Marshals.

Authorities said 28-year-old Michael Shane Westover was taken into custody yesterday afternoon in Montgomery. He was taken to the Houston County Jail.

Westover, according to Dothan Police, is charged with felony manslaughter in the November first assault on 60-year-old Michael Cowherd. Police said the victim suffered a critical head injury in the fight and died Saturday.

Westover is being held on a $30,000 bond.
