Man Arrested on Child Torture and Abuse Charges

A Panhandle man is behind bars at the Covington County Jail on serious felony charges involving a child.

Jeffery Davis of Laurel Hill faces willful torture and child abuse charges.

Police say a two-year-old toddler was brought to the emergency room at Florala Memorial Hospital suffering bruises to the face, head and body.

The Department of Human Resources was also involved in the investigation.

At the time of the alleged incident, Davis was in care of the child.

The reported beating took place at a home in Florala.

Few other details of the case have been released.

The suspect's bond is set at 350,000 dollars.

    there should be no bond for any one who would hurt cant help these kinds ofpeople theyll never change.bad guys will say any thing to get out of jail. we need to look out only for the best for the child.
