Long Time Geneva Investigator Passes Away

Long-time Geneva police investigator Lt. Ronald Gilbert passed Monday night after a short illness.

Lt. Gilbert joined the department 15-years-ago.

The Bethlehem, Florida native also worked with the city's rescue service as an EMT.

The 41-year-old leaves behind a wife, daughter, and granddaughter.

Police Chief Frankie Lindsey says his 16-member department has been rocked by the tragedy.

Gilbert's family will receive friends between 5 and 8 o'clock Wednesday night at Sorrell's Funeral Home in Geneva.

The funeral will take place 10 o'clock Thursday morning at Cedar Grove Church in Pittman.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
