The city personnel board approved a two-percent pay raise for all classified full-time workers.
City commissioners earmarked a little more than $770,000 in this year's budget to cover the salary increase and fringe benefits.
More than 960 employees will be getting raises that take effect with the next pay cycle beginning Sunday. About 50 percent of those workers received a 3.8 percent step increase last year.
