Renowned actor and political activist Charlton Heston will visit three cities in Alabama Friday to raise money for the Alabama Republican Party.

Michael Davis, director of the Alabama Republican Party's Victory 2002 Campaign said Heston's Alabama tour will begin with an 8 a.m. breakfast at a Mobile hotel.

At noon, Heston will be honored at a rally in Oxford, followed by a second rally at 5 p.m. in Huntsville. Both north Alabama rallies are free and open to the public. Separate private fund-raisers are also planned in Oxford and Huntsville.

The 78-year-old Heston is best known for his portrayal of Moses in “The Ten Commandments” and won an Oscar for his role in the 1959 epic “Ben Hur.”
