Suspect in Several Area Burglaries Arrested

Dothan police arrested a man they say is responsible for five different burglaries in the city.

Raymond Mathis of Dothan was taken into custody Wednesday night shortly after midnight.

Police say they caught him in the act of committing a burglary at a local business in the 100 block of Ross Clark Circle.

Mathis allegedly burglarized several convenience stores dating back to July.

Police say Mathis stole 1,000 dollars worth tobacco products in each burglary.

Mathis is charged with 5-counts of 3rd degree burglary and is being held on a 2.5 million dollars bond.
