Restaurant Owner Shot Twice in Robbery

A Geneva County restaurant owner is in stable condition in a Dothan hospital after an attempted robbery.

78-year-old James Burks was shot in the neck and chest at the Railroad Restaurant on Highway 123 in Hartford about 9 pm Wednesday night.

Burks was able to identify the shooter from a hospital bed just hours after the incident.

Police arrested 16 year-old Curtis Lamar Ingram in this case, he has been charged with attempted murder and first degree robbery, and bond has not been set.

    This is really a nonsense crime, for Mr Burk would do anything to help anyone. I pray for him and his family thru this terrible ordeal. And yes I agree with the last post, we need to send a strong message about not putting up with crimes. What is wrong with this world today?? Suppose to be love thy neighbor, not shoot thy neighbor. Hang in there Mr Burk, and get well fast.

    I think they should try put this kid to death for this and send a strong messege that we will not take these crimes anymore
