The number of foster children has quadrupled since last year.
There are currently more than 700 children looking for permanent homes in Alabama.
November is National Adoption month and organizations are making efforts to place children in loving families.
Beverly Miller with Henry County Social Services says the need for foster parents is on the rise with more than 6,000 children in foster care.
She says you don't have to be a perfect parent to foster or adopt.
Miller says the cost to adopt is drastically lower that a private agency and there is no fee to foster a child.
