Enterprise School Board Announces Date for Rebuilding School

ENTERPRISE, Ala. (AP) - A February construction date has been set for rebuilding one of two schools in Enterprise that were destroyed by a March 1st tornado.

At a meeting last night, members of the Enterprise Board of Education were told construction for Hillcrest Elementary will start February 11th.

Bids on the project will be accepted from December 12th through January 22nd. A vote on the winning bid would be taken by the school board on January 30th.

School officials said the contractor will be given 520 days to complete Hillcrest.

No firm date was set for rebuilding Enterprise High School. School administrators do not plan to advertise for bids until next July. The new high school is expected to take almost 2 years to complete.
