Emergency officials are making plans to deal with an influenza pandemic.
Members of the Houston County EMA met with health department officials to discuss a plan to deal with the situation if it were to arise.
An approved plan is required by the centers of disease control and prevention to make sure all counties are prepared to handle a situation of this magnitude.
Pandemic Influenza Coord. Pam Williams says, “Our goal is to make sure all citizens know about possibility for pandemic influenza in your county to prevent the spread of pandemic influenza.”
The Houston County Health Department will hold monthly meetings, open to the public, to discuss items like the pandemic influenza.
They'll be held on the third Monday of each month at 10 o'clock in the morning.
