Bodies have been found in Mississippi amid the wreckage of a plane belonging to a Florida Panhandle family missing since September 14.
Investigators say the couple and their two children fled Hurricane Ivan in their plane. But they vanished a short time later.
The tail number confirms the plane was registered to Kevin Bomback of Molino. The Civil Air Patrol says one of its pilots spotted the wreckage Monday, about two and a half miles south of the Magee, Mississippi., airport.
Searchers had to cut their way into the dense woods about a mile from the nearest road. Heavy equipment is being brought in to help recover the bodies.
The blue and white, twin-engine Cessna Skymaster took off from Atmore, Alabama, and disappeared from radar early on the morning of September 15. Family members in Houston reported Bomback, his wife Sherri and their two children missing about two weeks after the storm.
