Abortion opponents are close to getting “Choose Life'' license plates displayed on vehicles in Alabama.
Through August, 897 motorists had put up $50 each to order the tags. The state will start printing the yellow tags emblazoned with “Choose Life” if a total of 1,000 orders is received by Nov. 30.
Florida became the first state to issue “Choose Life” tags in August 2000, and 34,000 have been sold so far.
