Florida Couple Arrested for Multiple Thefts

Two Northwest Florida residents are in jail, allegedly responsible for more than 150 thefts from area Wal-Marts.

The Florida Highway Patrol arrested 27-year-old Jason Mitchell and 20-year-old Tamara Knight of Chipley after they allegedly fled a Marianna gas station without paying.

Troopers pulled over the couple and noticed property in the vehicle that was taken during a theft.

Police say the two stole items like big screen TVs and computers from 16 different Mal-Marts in three states.

Police also arrested 38-year-old Terry Davis for allegedly purchasing the stolen property.

Mitchell and Knight are believed to be involved in other area thefts.

How do you steal such big items and not be seen? Sounds like someone was helping them inside walmart

How in the world can someone walk out of a store with a big-screen tv? I realize most of the employees aren't the brightest lights out there, but come on. I pay for my stuff and can't ever get out of the store without that theft-protection system going off and telling me to go back inside.
