Washington County investigators have identified a man who killed himself after leading deputies on a chase through two counties.
Holmes County deputies tried to pull the man over for driving erratically near Bonifay, Sunday night.
But he refused to stop until spike strips blew out his tires near Vernon.
When deputies approached the vehicle, the man shot himself with a handgun.
Washington County Sheriff Bobby Haddock says 71-year-old Norman Clark split his time between Michigan and Bay County, had recently returned to the panhandle for the winter.
Investigators still do not know why the man refused to stop or why he shot himself.
