Police Investigate Early Morning Convenience Store Robbery

At this hour, police are still looking for two suspects who tried to rob another Hobo Pantry in Dothan.

It’s the latest in a recent rash of convenience store hold-ups.

Around 3:10 Friday morning, undercover officers happened to be at the Hobo Pantry, located at the intersection of Reeves Street and Murray Road.

Two black males, dressed in black clothing with hoods over their heads, entered the Hobo Pantry armed and demanded money.

Police say one of the undercover officers saw the men enter the store, and upon confrontation, one suspect pulled out a handgun.

The officer fired two shots, missing the suspects and breaking a window.

Police say the two men ran out of the store and got away on foot.

One dropped his handgun, which has been confiscated by police.

Officials do believe this attempted robbery is connected to the recent rash of robberies at various other Hobo Pantries.

If you have information about the attempted robbery, call Crime Stoppers at 793-7000.

There is a reward being offered in the case.
