Alleged Donation Jar Thief Caught

A thief wanted for stealing from a jar full of money intended for charity has been arrested.

29-year-old Edward Boykin of Webb is charged with theft of property.

Police say a Crimestoppers tip led to his arrest because the crime was caught on tape.

Surveillance camera video showed a man stealing cash from a Perry Griffin charity jar at the Panhandle Converter and Scrap Company last Friday.

Griffin was a manager at the company and was murdered in June.

A jar for collections was located on the front counter of the business.

The suspect reached into the jar four times before leaving.

Boykin was booked in the Dothan City Jail.

He is free on bond.

It would appear that his man was taking money OUT of the donation jar! Proving that may be another story. First of all is there accountability for the contents of the jar? If he did take money Maybe he needed to feed his hungry family? Do you think this man would steal from you? A picture is worth a thousand words if you can clearly see all the details. This is why we have a Judicial System to get to the Real Truth.
