Candy Tossing Ban

Parades may not be quite as sweet in the future in one Wiregrass city.

The Geneva City Council will look at banning the practice of throwing candy and other items from parade floats.

During last Friday’s high school homecoming parade, several children were almost hit by a vehicle after chasing candy on to the street.

One officer says more and more cities across the Wiregrass are banning candy-throwing.

The Geneva City Council is expected to consider the candy ban at its next meeting next month.
