3 Injured in Oil Well Rig Collapse in Panhandle

JAY, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say three people were injured during an oil well rig collapse in the Florida Panhandle.

Jay Volunteer Fire Department Chief Tony Simmons says one person fell 100 feet, another 70 feet and a third fell down stairs Tuesday night.

The names and conditions of the three injured people aren't known. Simmons says the site is secure.

A phone message left with the Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office was not immediately returned.

Jay is located about 40 miles north of Pensacola.
