Alabama’s Homeland Security director met with area EMA leaders to address the needs for surrounding area counties.
Items such as tents, sonar radios, light towers, and night vision goggles were among the items requested.
Most of the participants say they are satisfied with the results.
Director Alabama Homeland Security Jim Walker said, "What you saw here today were representatives of a 10 county region. They were cooperating with one another, collaborating, they each have unique challenges, they each have resources, if they don't have what they need, odds are there is another county in the region that does."
Almost everything that the 10 counties asked for was approved Tuesday with the exception of boats.
They require special approval from Homeland Security.
