A Cottonwood man has been convicted on multiple dog-fighting charges.

42-year-old Johnny Ray Lewis was accused of training pit bull dogs to fight.

He was arrested in August of 2005.

Authorities raided his home in Cottonwood and confiscated videos of dogs fighting.

Nearly 20 animals were also seized.

All of the dogs were less than a year old.

They eventually ended up at the Dothan Animal Shelter.

Lewis was found guilty on 17 counts of training dogs to fight. He faces up to 10 years in prison on each count.

Judge Ed Jackson has set sentencing for November 13th.
