Brannon Stand Road Bridge Work

Dothan and Houston County officials are moving ahead with a much anticipated bridge replacement project.

Some ten thousand cars a day use the bridge at Beaver Creek on Brannon Stand Road.

Officials want to widen the road, but first they have to replace the bridge.

Dothan city commissioners voted Tuesday to chip in $250,000 on the 1.8 million dollar project.

Work is scheduled to begin in June of next year and will take about four months to complete.

Officials also want to know what residents think about the project.

A public hearing is set for October 8th at 5:30 PM at the Highland Oaks Clubhouse.
