POTTSTOWN, Pa. (AP) -- A southeastern Pennsylvania man has been ordered to stand trial on a vehicular homicide charge in the November death of a teenager.
The (Pottstown) Mercury (http://bit.ly/RM4jwZ ) says all charges against 43-year-old Robert Sitler Jr. of Collegeville were upheld after a three-hour preliminary hearing Friday in Montgomery County.
Police allege that he struck and killed 16-year-old Timothy Paciello Jr. in Lower Pottsgrove Township but lied about having been behind the wheel because of a previous manslaughter conviction in a 2004 crash death in Alabama.
His girlfriend, 43-year-old Denise Dinnocenti, waived a hearing on insurance fraud and conspiracy counts.
Defense attorney Thomas Carluccio unsuccessfully sought dismissal of most charges, calling the case an accident rather than a crime.
A standing-room-only crowd, some wearing buttons bearing the teen's picture, filled the courtroom.
