The charity group “Bronies for Good,” consisting of adult fans across the world of “My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic” held another charity livestream, raising over $7,000 for a pair of causes.
Over the final weekend of January, the charity group that calls itself “Bronies for Good” raised over $7,000 US dollars during a day-long charity livestream called “Kallisti II.” During the video stream, those watching were able to see artwork from fans being created and listen to interviews with talent from the popular animated series such as writer Dave Polsky and voice actress Andrea Libman.
The goal of the fundraiser was to raise money for two groups: GalaCon and the Seeds of Kindness 2 fundraiser. As News 4 has previously reported, “Bronies for Good” has raised tens of thousands for various causes in Africa, helping impoverished areas in need of assistance in places such as Uganda. The current project of the group is to fund rainwater harvesting tanks in part of Tanzania.
Galacon is planned to be a convention in Germany to celebrate “My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic” in early August. There will be separate charity auctions taking place at that convention. The money is to be split evenly between the two causes.
Although the livestream has concluded, donations are still being accepted.
