Authorities have arrested a nanny who Dallas police suspect was on a phone call while two 5-year-old girls drowned in a backyard pool.
Police tells the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that 58-year-old Marta Sonia Corvi faces two counts of reckless conduct in the death of the two girls.
Dallas Police Sgt. Bill Gorman says Corvi was on a 45-minute phone call while the girls went outside fully clothed and went into the swimming pool.
Investigators believe one of the girls lived at the home and the other girl was the granddaughter of Corvi, and suspect the girls wandered outside Sunday afternoon then ended up in the pool.
Corvi is being held at the Paulding County jail.
