Georgia Center Evacuated

COLLEGE PARK, Ga. (AP) - About 1,000 people were evacuated from
the Georgia International Convention Center in south Fulton County
on Friday after a burst water pipe set off the facility's fire
alarm.

Marketing director Andria Towne said the pipe was attached the
400,000-square-foot center's sprinkler system. She said cold
weather was likely to blame since the pipe was outside.

Towne said the people evacuated outside were allowed back into
the building after five or six minutes. No one was injured in the
3:45 p.m. incident.
