MACON, Ga. (AP) -- Authorities say two prison inmates have been sentenced for their roles in the 2011 fatal beating of a fellow inmate at Central State Prison.
Autopsy results showed that 23-year-old Justin Michael Taylor of Soperton died of blunt force trauma and strangulation in a Feb. 21, 2011 fight at the prison in Bibb County.
Reports say that Lance Allen Parson of Quitman pleaded guilty Friday to voluntary manslaughter. John Regan, a Bibb County prosecutor, said Parson was sentenced to 15 years.
Regan said Hugh Dorsey Barnard of Bainbridge, who pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter, was sentenced to 18 years.
