As new hairstyles and trends emerge , it seems like old-fashioned barber shops have gone the way of the dinosaur, but there's one spot in Blakely that's been "lowering ears" for nearly half a century, and there's no sign Mr. Tom's slowing down.
Tom's Barber Shop on South Main Street opened on October 2, 1964.
While the world outside has changed a lot, not much has changed inside.
Tom Riley has given thousands of haircuts in his lifetime - for babies, teenagers and the elderly.
He says he's been entrusted with a lot of peoples' best kept secrets.
"They're gonna tell somebody and I've listened to a lot of good ones. They've got family problems, all kind of problems. It's amazing what' they'll tell you. I just think it's because they want somebody to talk to."
Mr. Tom says his biggest pet peeve is when guys over-do it with the gel.
