FORT STEWART, Ga. (AP) - Military police are investigating the
death of a Fort Stewart soldier found bleeding outside a barracks
building on the southeast Georgia Army post.
Fort Stewart spokesman Kevin Larson says the soldier appears to
have been stabbed.
He was found late Wednesday by a delivery driver who called police.
The soldier was pronounced dead at Winn Army Community Hospital on Fort Stewart.
The soldier's name has not been released pending notification of
Larson says the 3rd Infantry Division soldier was killed less than a day after he returned from a year-long deployment to Iraq.
Fort Stewart officials declined to release any other details
about the killing.
