The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that the fisherman, whose names were not released, called police after they discovered the body Wednesday in the water near the 6600 block of Akers Mill Road.
Cobb County police Sgt. Dana Pierce says investigators have ruled the death a homicide.
Pierce says the public's help is needed to help identify the victim. The victim was described as a black male, who is 5-foot-10 with numerous tattoos.
Investigators could not say how the man died or how long he been in the water.
