Several SW Counties in Georgia under Severe Thunderstorm Warning

A line of severe thunderstorms with potentially damaging straight-line winds will move through Bainbridge, Donalsonville and surrounding areas over the next hour.

At around 11:30pm Eastern, forecasters with the National Weather Service in Tallahassee detected a line of severe thunderstorms. This line is capable of producing damaging winds to 60mph, possibly higher. At 11:30pm Eastern, the storms were located roughly 9 miles to the north of Newton, stretching further to the south. They are moving southeast at around 45mph.

Other locations in the warning include Bainbridge, Colquitt, and Donalsonville.

Forecasters with the Weather Service say that "this is a dangerous storm. People outside should move inside a strong building, but away from windows."
