SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) -- More than 1,000 pounds of unused prescription drugs have been collected across southeast Georgia.
Law enforcement officials held a collection effort Saturday so resident could clean out their medicine cabinets. Authorities said the goal was to prevent prescription drugs from falling into the wrong hands.
The drugs were taken from collection points to the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration's office in Savannah for weighing. The drugs will then be burned.
