DECATUR, Ga. (AP) -- Police outside Atlanta are investigating the death of a toddler, whose body was found in the backyard of her home.

DeKalb County police tell The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that investigators are searching for a suspect in the death of the 2-year-old girl.

DeKalb County police spokeswoman Mekka Parish said the girl was being watched by her 13-year-old sibling and disappeared from the family's Waldrop Trail home at some point. She said other children were also home at the time.

Parish said that when the parents returned home, the child was found outside the rear of the condo with fatal injuries.

Police say they know the cause of death but haven't released it publicly.

Few other details were immediately available Monday evening.
