It's not the day after Thanksgiving.

But in Blakely, Georgia, Friday was the biggest shopping day of the year

Stephanie Anderson said, “All the businesses stay open until 9P.M. We have authors signing books and it's kind of like our own personal Black Friday.”

A small town black Friday with big town deals.

Shopper Whitney Heath said, “I’d definitely buy something if it was 50 percent off because if it's something I want, I’d be getting a deal.”

Deals shop owner Melanie Brown knows bring in business.

Brown said, “We were here until after 10:30 last year, so it was tremendous for us.”

But it isn’t just about shopping.

Anderson said, “Small business brings the community together.”

Brown said, “It's a big weekend for Blakely to keep the small town going.”

Keeping a small town coming together for many more holiday seasons.
